For people who love to have adventures and like to venture, scuba diving offers the thrills and frills of the life. It is the ultimate and takes adventurism to the highest levels. But scuba diving enthusiasts there are not much places and locations in US. Except for one scuba diving location that has live coral life, one can find only Virgin Islands. This island consists of 50 islands in the Caribbean that present spectacular and unique scuba diving experience of its own.
The islands have innumerous scuba diving locations and most of them are unexplored as people focus mainly on three or four famous spots like St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas.
St. Croix forms the largest scuba diving location of Virgin Islands with more than 20 diving sites all featuring caverns, pinnacles, ledges and vertical walls. It is the best scuba diving locations in the world and also offers a lot for people seeking dry pursuits.
Most of the St.John is considered as National Park. The dives set up here are of world class and are in top shape as they are protected and maintained by the government. Here one can enjoy stingrays at Congo Cay and swarming silversides, waving sea rods, cruising reef sharks and turtles at Carval Rock.
Several scuba diving locations are present in St.Thomas featuring brightly colored corals, shipwrecks, and magnificent marine life in abundance. One can have access to General Rogers that was once used by US Coast Guard. This is an artificial reef created by the coast guard by sinking General Rogers.
The artificial reef today is covered by coral and bright sponges, which became home to goatfish, grunts and angelfish.
St. Thomas has another scuba diving spot called Coki point where one can find Sergeant Major, parrotfish and damselfish making it a beautiful sight to watch.
