Located in South Western Europe, Malaga borders The Mediterranean Sea, The Bay of Biscay and The North Atlantic Ocean. This port city in Mediterranean Sea was established in 8th century by Phoenician traders and lies in Costa del Sol region today. Malaga has been an important and major tourist destination and has such world class and numerous tourist attractions that exploration of the city in full requires a guided tour. The variety of tourist attractions is Malaga includes public squares, sandy beaches, historic buildings and the spectacular locally known Bahia de Malaga (bay of Malaga). When most of the racing courses close down in winter, best horses from all over Europe are brought here by stables and The Caves of Nerja which are located on the Sierra Almijara Mountain’s slopes and are the third most visited spot in Spain. Apart from these other important tourist attractions include Plaza de Toros La Malagueta or La Malagueta Bullring where numerous notable fiestas are held.
It has an impressive architecture and interesting museum for bull fighting; it dates back to 1876 and has seat for more than 15,000 spectators, Plaza de la Merced which is famous for being Picasso’s place of birth, National museum of air navigation and transport, Museo del Vino, Nerja Donkey sactuary and Pasaje de Chinitas which was once a popular spot for Flamenco singing and dancing and is a beautiful area today lots of delightful gardens, bars and shops.
The trip to Malaga cannot be complete unless you visit Benalmadena which comprises of Benalmadena pueblo: a while Andalucian village, Arroya de la miel which is Benalmadena’s business centre and Benalmadena costa which is a coastal area and has wonderful sandy beaches. Benalmadena is popular for offering host of activities and water sports like kayaking, scuba diving, sailing, water skiing and boating.
